How to calculate GST in Canada

  • To add GST: price before tax × 1.05 = price including tax. For example, 100.00 × 1.05 = 105.00.
  • To remove GST: price including tax ÷ 1.05 = price before tax. For example, 105.00 ÷ 1.05 = 100.00.
  • The tax inside a price that includes it: price including tax × 5 ÷ 105. For 105.00 that is 5.00.
