Is electronic signature legal in the United Arab Emirates?

Legal

Yes. Federal Decree-Law No. 46 of 2021 on Electronic Transactions and Trust Services recognizes electronic, advanced and qualified electronic signatures, and a qualified signature has the same legal effect as a handwritten one. The law has no fixed list of excluded transactions, but the Cabinet can exclude some and other laws may still require notarization or registration.

A signature in electronic form attached to or linked with a document that identifies the signer and shows acceptance. It cannot be refused as evidence only because it is electronic.
