How to fill in and sign SEPE prestación contributiva

  1. Choose online or paper

With DNIe, a digital certificate or Cl@ve you can apply in the SEPE electronic office and sign there. Use this form if you are filing on paper.

  2. Tick initial claim or resumption

Mark whether this is a first claim (alta inicial) or a resumption (reanudación) of a benefit you had before.

  3. Fill in your details

Complete the personal, contact and bank details the form asks for, and the sections about your last job.

  4. Sign and date

Sign the declaration and date it.

  5. File within 15 days

Submit it with your documents. Real Decreto 625/1985 sets a 15-day window from the date you became legally unemployed. Applying late shortens the benefit by the days lost.

  • Your DNI or NIE.
  • Your bank account details.
  • The documents showing you are legally unemployed, such as the dismissal letter or end of contract.
  • The form from sepe.es.

Signing online

The SEPE's user manual says that online you identify yourself with DNIe, a digital certificate or Cl@ve, confirm the application, and sign it with your Cl@ve password and a one-time code sent to your mobile. You can then download the application and receipt as PDFs.
